REM Asia 2025 Call for Speakers

Center for Resource Solutions is seeking engaging speakers and panelists with compelling stories to tell for the REM™ Asia 2025 conference. We are looking for individuals who can present new data or ideas, address important issues, and, most importantly, offer fresh and informed perspectives on the future of renewable energy markets in the region. 

You will need to submit a brief summary of your background, select a session topic from the list below, and describe what you would like to cover if you are chosen as a speaker. You may submit the form more than once if you would like to apply to speak on multiple topics.

Topics of interest include:

  • Market Spotlight: Malaysia. This session will highlight the Malaysian Government's latest initiative, the Guidelines for the Corporate Renewable Energy Supply Scheme (CRESS) and its effects on the renewable energy market landscape. Come learn about this new initiative as well as the current status of the Energy Exchange Malaysia (ENEGEM) and the Green Electricity Tariff (GET) Program. 
  • Market Spotlight: Thailand. The Thai government is working to make renewable energy more accessible. This session will provide insights on recent policy updates and challenges facing the FiT scheme for buyers and developers, as well as discuss the latest developments with the Utility Green Tariff project and pilot PPAs.
  • Market Spotlight: China. This panel will dive into the complexities of China's renewable energy market. China recently released guidance on medium-and long-term green power trading mechanisms. Learn more about these mechanisms as well as updates on procurement methods including Green Energy Certificates (GECs) and PPAs.
  • Market Spotlight: India. The market for renewable energy in India has grown considerably over the past several years. This session will cover regulatory challenges facing virtual PPAs, market dynamics, and procurement options for voluntary market participants.
  • Market Spotlight: Vietnam. Direct Power Purchase Agreements are now available in Vietnam through a recent decree from the Vietnamese government. Get up to date on recent changes to renewable energy policy, implementation, and procurement options for voluntary market participants.
  • Market Spotlight: Japan. Options for purchasing renewable energy in Japan continue to evolve, as the number of companies looking to purchase renewables continues to grow, particularly through RE100 commitments. Market dynamics, opportunities, and recent recommendations for corporate purchasing will be discussed, as well as changes to voluntary renewable energy options and generator support mechanisms.
  • Decarbonizing Data Centers and Semiconductor Supply Chains in the Age of AI. With the rising demand for AI services, the global development of Data Centers and semiconductors is expected to keep growing. Learn from a variety of experts what challenges are being faced and the necessary steps to decarbonize their supply chains.
  • On Track: Key Updates and Initiatives from Renewable Energy Tracking Systems. Join us for an interactive session. We will hear from representatives of regional and international tracking systems describe recent updates and initiatives for their respective platforms. We will then break out into small groups for further discussion, allowing attendees to speak directly with representatives of each tracking system.
  • International Initiatives and Policies that will Impact your Business in Asia and Beyond. Explore the latest international initiatives and policies shaping renewable energy market landscapes and discover strategies to support your business. This session will cover current policies and initiatives including: the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), the Greenhouse Gas Protocol’s Scope 2 Guidance, Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPSs), and Feed-in Tariff (FIT) Schemes.
  • Government-led vs Private Renewable Energy Markets. Renewable energy users from across the region will describe their successes and challenges of renewable energy procurement in government-led versus private markets. This panel will discuss strategies for working and interacting with government agencies, state-run utilities, and power sectors, such as China, Thailand, Indonesia, and more.
  • ASEAN Regional Grid Integration and Singapore's Position. As a key player in the success of ASEAN regional grid integration, Singapore has a unique position in regional cooperation and collaboration. This panel will discuss the benefits of ASEAN grid integration, recent cross-border trading and interconnection developments between Singapore and Indonesia. Learn about the latest developments in the Lao PDR-Thailand-Malaysia-Singapore Power Integration Project (LTMS-PIP).
  • Financing the Future: ESG Investments in Renewable Energy. Learn from ESG-friendly investors and financial experts about the role of sustainable finance in driving renewable energy markets in SEA. Come learn how to navigate various sustainability standards and ESG initiatives. 
  • Key Considerations in PPA Negotiations. Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) play a critical role in helping businesses achieve their decarbonization goals. This panel will give you contractual insights by exploring the challenges and opportunities in negotiating Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) from a buyer, seller, and legal perspective from a variety of different policy and country contexts.
  • New and Impactful Voluntary Procurement Strategies. Join us as we hear from a variety of professionals on the advancements of procurement strategies and technologies shaping the renewable energy market landscape. Topics will include: the transition from unbundled REC procurement to bundled purchasing options, hourly EAC accounting, battery storage, and sacred and ancestral land preservation barriers.
